Our Beliefs
At Total City Church, everything we believe is built on the truth of God’s Word. The Bible is our foundation and final authority for faith and life. The statements that follow outline the core truths that shape who we are and how we live the full life God made us for.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, true and without error. It is our final authority for what we believe and how we live, revealing who God is and how to live the full life He created us for. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 119:105, John 17:17)
The Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully and equally God, distinct in role but one in nature, perfect in unity, love, and purpose. (Matthew 28:19, Genesis 1:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God The Father
We believe God the Father is the one true and living God — loving, holy, and the Creator of all things. Through Jesus, He adopts us as His children and desires for everyone to know Him and live in restored relationship with Him. (Matthew 7:11, John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 8:6, John 1:12-13)
Jesus Christ The Son
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and offers forgiveness, new life, and salvation to all who believe in Him. (John 1:1-4, John 1:14, Romans 10:9, Acts 4:12, Luke 1:35, Hebrews 1:3)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and lives within every believer. He draws people to Jesus, gives new life, empowers us to live for God, and fills us with His presence, guidance, and power each day. (Acts 1:8, Romans 8:11, John 14:16-17, Galatians 5:22-23)
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit fills every believer at salvation and continues to fill and empower us for bold living and ministry. This baptism brings greater spiritual power and the release of gifts such as tongues, prophecy, healing, and more — all given by the Spirit to build the Church and reveal Jesus to the world. (Acts 1:8, Acts 19:1-6, Mark 16:17-18, Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 14:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:19-20)
Salvation
We believe salvation is God’s gift of grace to all people. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own effort or good works. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, made new, and restored to a right relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16, Titus 3:5)
The Church
We believe the Church is the global body of believers, united through faith in Jesus Christ. God calls the Church to share the gospel, make disciples, and bring His hope to the world. Every believer is part of the Church and has a unique role in God’s mission. (Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Matthew 28:19-20)
Water Baptism
We believe water baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer’s new life, identifying with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism follows salvation as an act of obedience and surrender to God. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4. Acts 8:36–38, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21)
Communion (The Lord's Supper)
We believe Communion is a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The bread and cup represent His body and blood, given for our forgiveness. We celebrate Communion to remember His love and proclaim His victory until He returns. (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, Matthew 26:26–28)
Marriage
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God between one man and one woman. It reflects the love and unity between Christ and His Church and provides the foundation for family and community. (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:25-32, Hebrews 13:4)
Humanity
We believe God created all people in His image to know Him and live in relationship with Him. But through sin, humanity turned away from God and became separated from Him. Every person needs God’s grace and forgiveness, which are freely given through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26–27, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, Isaiah 59:2)
Eternity
We believe every person will live forever — either in eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ or separated from Him by sin. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. God’s desire is that all would receive His gift of salvation and live with Him forever. (John 3:16–17, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 21:1–4, Romans 6:23)
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will come again, just as He promised. His return will bring the fulfillment of God’s plan, the final defeat of sin and death, and the restoration of all things. We live in hope, preparing our hearts and lives for His coming. (Acts 1:10–11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, Revelation 22:12–13)
Christian Living
We believe followers of Jesus are called to live in a way that reflects God’s love, truth, and grace. Through the Holy Spirit, we grow in character, serve others, and share the hope of Jesus with the world. Our faith is not just believed — it’s lived every day. (Galatians 5:22–25, Matthew 5:14–16, Ephesians 4:1–3, James 2:17)
